Try these on for size...
"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go!" My mom's favorite Christmas song reminds me that we need some Christmas projects, so let's get busy planning our holiday workshops. This month, let's focus on making projects we can use in our holiday workshops, stamp camps and classes!
CCREW1112DF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- DSP/Color Focus: The Festival of Prints stack in the Holiday catalog is a great size and is very versatile! If you don't have the DSP, use the colors: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Crumb Cake, Lucky Limeade and Very Vanilla.
CCREW1112CF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Catalog focus: For the holidays, I'm all about the glitz! Let's see what you can do with glitter, shimmer paints, smooch spritz, shimmer paper, shimmery white cardstock and even glimmer brads!
CCREW1112HF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Holiday focus: Make a gift card holder. Can we ever have enough templates for these? Need one to get you started? Here's an oldie but a goodie: Stamp on This: Tis the season to give gift cards
CCREW1112SF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Scrapbook focus: Create a photo cube using the SCS tutorial. You could easily do this in a class or use it as a hostess gift!
I had some fun with some of these challenges!

Hope You Can Cling To... Part 2
Here's another batch of the cards I sent to MD Anderson.
Hope you enjoy this batch. Just a reminder to visit my SCS gallery (see button on sidebar) to see details for any of these cards.
Hope You Can Cling To... Part 1
October is Hope You Can Cling To challenge month at SplitCoastStampers. We had at least one challenge a day...and I managed to complete every one.
But most of all, those cards go to the MD Anderson Breast Cancer clinic in Texas for the use of the patients and their families. We manage to send thousands of cards during the month. I'll share what I did...but it might take a few posts!
Hope you enjoy these...I'll post more in my next post.
By the way, to see details for any project here on my blog, find the "see my art at SCS" button in the sidebar and click on it. It will take you to my gallery there.

October Creative Crew Projects
Stepping a project up is hard for me.
I'm a Clean and Simple gal at heart. In my cardmaking. In my scrapbooking. In my quilting. Even in my teaching.
Sometimes we have to learn to add some "flair" or something. Tell me if I achieved it at all.
I have to admit that I love both versions of most of these projects...and I particularly love my scrapbook page!

October Creative Crew Challenges
These are the challenges for October:
Stepping up a project is such a great teachable moment that I want that to be our focus for this month. As you can see in my sample below, the left card is plain but nice, the right card is much more jazzed up and has a little more impact. To accomplish these tasks, you will need to show your simple project AND the stepped up version. Therefore, each focus will need 2 versions of the project.
CCREW1012DF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM - DSP/Color Focus: Our focus is fall colors as seen in Orchard Harvest designer papers--cajun craze, early espresso, island indigo, more mustard, lucky limeade, raspberry ripple. Create a simple fall card with at least 3 of the orchard harvest dsp colors, them make a stepped up version of your fall card. Show both versions with an explanation of how you stepped it up.
CCREW1012CF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM - Catalog Focus: The catalog focus will be the Occasions Stamps (pp.32-57 in annual catalog). Choose any stampset to create a simple tag or Artist Trading Card (ATC) then make a stepped up version of your tag/ATC. (See p.78 in the annual catalog for a sample of simple tags.) Show both versions and delight us with a list of your stepped up points.
CCREW1012HF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM - Holiday Focus: The holiday focus is Halloween, Thanksgiving or fall in general, whichever you prefer. Your project can be anything--card, tag, scrapbook page or home decor. You may use any Halloween, Thanksgiving or fall stampset. Shine by showing us a simplified version of your project, then showing us the stepped up version of your project. Show both versions and explain how you stepped up your project.
CCREW1012SF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM - Scrapbook Focus: The scrapbook focus is Halloween, fall or harvest. You may use any stampset with any 3 colors in Orchard Harvest dsp. You may use the Orchard Harvest dsp, if you wish. Create a simple scrapbook page then show us a stepped up version of your page. Show both versions and please explain how you accomplished the transformation on your stepped version.
Stepping up, huh. My goodness. Out of my comfort zone. But would it be a challenge if it weren't?

September Creative Crew Projects
So, I posted the challenges, I figure you'd like to see what I created...
These were definitely a challenge for me since I forget about using stitching for an accent, and since I tend to think "simple" and forget that such things can be added and still be simple.
